SOSsj.com, being a public policy advocacy portal, offers residents and businesses the ability to connect to public and union officials at the City of San José. This Acceptable Use Policy is designed to protect the users of our services and the public and private networks from disruptive and/or illegal activities over such connections.

By using this website you agree to be bound by all facets of the Acceptable Use Policy. SOSsj.com reserves the right to terminate a person’s usage at any point if the person violates any activity disallowed within this policy.

Illegal Activity: SOSsj.com may not be used for any activity that violates any local, state, federal or international law, regulation or order including, but not limited to: Disseminating material that infringes the copyright, trademark and/or other intellectual property rights of others. Engaging in any fraudulent activities, including, but not limited to: “IP Spoofing”, impersonating any entity or person, or engaging in illegal soliciting schemes.

Spamming: SOSsj.com may not be used for the distribution of unsolicited bulk/commercial messages other than emails specifically utilized to advocate for public policy in San José. Forging, altering or removing electronic mail headers is also prohibited.

Obscene Content: SOSsj.com may not be used to advertise, transmit, post, display or otherwise make available obscene content.

Abusive or Threatening Messages: SOSsj.com may not be used to send or post any messages deemed threatening, abusive, defamatory or harassing.

Distribution of Malicious Content: SOSsj.com may not be used to distribute any destructive content including viruses, trojan horses, worms, flooding, pinging and any other activities or content that disrupt the use of the network and any connected network.

Security: SOSsj.com may not be used in any attempt to gain unauthorized access to any private or public network. This includes security screening tasks such as port scanning, stealth scanning or any other information gathering activity. The user is solely responsible for the security of any devices connected to the Service and any data those devices may contain.

Other Limitations: SOSsj.com does not actively monitor user’s content and use of the Service, but if made aware of any violation of this policy, will take the action necessary to resolve the issue. SOSsj.com will also comply with any law enforcement agencies concerning any client activities over our network.
